"Bands on the Train!" Yeovil Arts Weekend event - Steam trains and bands

Yeovil Art Space and Yeovil Railway Centre present “Bands on the Train!" a Yeovil Art Weekender Event.

Steam trains and Music. Line up of local Musicians, including a Glastonbury performer!

Julie Dunn -singer/songwriter/keyboards/percussion – www.juliedunn.co.uk FB juliedunnmusic

Relocating from London to Yeovil end of 2001, Singer/Songwriter/Pianist Julie teaches and performs in the SW and further afield. She regularly appears with other musicians in her band performing jazz/blues/rock & pop plus her own original material. Her musical influences are as varied as her songwriting – from JS Bach to Amy Winehouse and much more in between: never dull, Julie loves connecting with audiences of all ages, usually leaving her audiences wanting more!

Sharon Lazibyrd -"I love her gorgeous folk" Chris Hawkins BBC Radio 6. BBC introducing artist Sharon Lazibyrd is a talented, original and award winning singer- songwriter who writes striking and melodic songs. She has recorded a session for Bob Harris and was invited to take part in a BBC Introducing residential. She has performed at many festivals including Glastonbury and the 6 Music Festival in Bristol in 2016

Steel Leaf - An upcoming young Metal Band from Yeovil. We are really looking forward to seeing “Steel Leaf” rock the transfer Shed!

As well as bands we will be running Steam Trains as usual

Steam Train Day using Peckett 0-4-0 'Pectin' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in our coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use. 

Pre-booking will not be necessary for this event and please pay at the gate.

Steam trains at start at 11.00am then frequently until 3.50pm.

(Gate open at 10.30am and train rides start at 11.00am. Last admission 3.15pm).

Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway and exhibits and displays (including the Chard Signalling Panel).

Admission (including Steam Train ride £13 adult,Children £6.50 whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. More details will be given on arrival.

One Child (aged (5-15)) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult .
